The Greatest Fantasy Trilogy of All Time by Lee Beldam and Joe Makarov - F*cked Up Fantasy

One does not simply make great theatre. Join the Bedfellowship of the Ring, as they journey through Lower Earth to reach Mount Volcano. With the threat of copyright strikes, a troublesome traitor and just over an hour; Forbo and Ham must power through - just as the author intended.

Nov 25: TGFTOAT premiered to sell out audiences during it's four night run at Alma Tavern & Theatre, Bristol. As the company's debut show they worked with local creatives and gathered an array of media from the show including a review, trailer and dress rehearsal photos. Their social media platform @f_ckedupfantasy had over 81K views in the four months running up to the show.

love you, bye (nee FAITH.) by Meg Pickup and Taruna Nalini - Uncaged Theatre

To be a woman is to love and to survive. Colly, Kaia, Mercy and Theo have been friends for over a decade. A woman close to them goes missing and the group grapples with surviving in a world where violence against women and girls is so prevalent and affecting.

Jul-Sep 24: love you, bye was put in front of audiences to gain feedback to further develop the piece at Rondo Theatre, Bath; Alma Tavern & Theatre Bristol; and Roper Room at The Egg Theatre, Bath. Each show took on audience feedback; adding, removing and updating scenes.

Jul-Aug 25: The show, as now directed by Evie Osbon, performed previews at Ustinov Studios, Bath before heading to Bedlam Theatre for a seven day run at Edinburgh Festival Fringe where it made a profit.

SHOCK by Tini - FireKeg Productions

After weeks of sleeplessness Christian’s mother, Irene, sends him to the doctor’s; but the ‘cure’ he got wasn’t what they expected. This is the true story of Christian and a treatment that shattered him into pieces.

Aug 24: Two script workshops were held with local artists to facilitate a reading of the script, work on character relationships and gain feedback for the show.

May 25: A rehearsed reading of the show was performed at Alma Tavern & Theatre, Bristol to gain feedback from a live audience, create media for future development of the show, and provide a base for the writer to develop the script further. In 2026 the show will be submitted for arts funding pots to be able to tour in the UK.

Stable by Taruna Nalini - Theatre Nisha UK

Jack, a psychologist, finds himself drawn to his client, Ava. In his own therapy with Tara, he attempts to explore these feelings but falters. This gripping narrative delves into relationships, boundaries and the repercussions of our actions.

Nov-Mar 25: Stable toured around the South West of England with shows at Alma Tavern & Theatre, Bristol, Rondo Theatre, Bath, and Front Room, Weston-super-Mare. 75% of the run was to sold out audiences.

Connections: A New Writing Tour - Uncaged Theatre

Four 30-minute pieces about the connections that bind us. Writers, actors and directors all South West based and chosen from successful social media callouts.

Feb 24: Connections toured to four theatres for five shows over three weeks including: Pound Arts, Corsham; The Egg, Bath; Cotswold Playhouse, Stroud; and Alma Tavern & Theatre, Bristol. Valuable feedback from audiences was gained for writers to help further development of their pieces, as well as dress rehearsal photos and a recording of the night.

SPARK 2024 - BLUEPRINT

A festival night of nine acts from Bristol showcasing their thoughts on ‘Protest of the Everyday’.

Feb 24: Sold out evening at Tobacco Factory Theatres with each performance reaching audience capacities of 50% or more. Hand written pieces of feedback, collected on the night, for each of the nine acts. Recordings and photos also captured for the night and performances designed to be used for future development.

Identity: A New Writing Night - Uncaged Theatre

Scratch night of four 15-minute new writing pieces exploring different reflections of identity and discovering what defines it.

May 23: successful one night showcase at Alma Tavern & Theatre where written feedback was gained and a recording of the night captured. New writers successfully chosen from callouts to social media, their extracts were then fully produced by Uncaged Theatre using directors and actors also based in the South West of England. During the process the writers were given opportunities to gain insight into the creation of a theatre show to further their development.

FEB '22 - APR '22

Caged: A New Writing Night - Uncaged Theatre

Scratch night consisting of four 15-minute extracts, of pre-fringe shows, exploring what it means to be caged and asking if freedom is ever possible.

Apr 22: Sold out one night performance at Burdall’s Yard, Bath which lead to the development of future scratch nights for early careers creatives. Hand written feedback gained from audience members.

JAN '20 - APR '22

MILK by Teddy Andraste - Andraste&Co Theatre Company

MILK looks at the story of Daisy and Mary, two young women whose friendship is formed in a severely dystopic situation and tested continuously.

May 20: Originally showcased as a 15-minute extract as part of SparkFest Digital 2020. Both the writer, Teddy Andraste and producer, Billie-Jo Rainbird, received firsts from Bath Spa University regarding their production of and supporting essays for the extract.

Nov 21: the show was filmed in a National Theatre style to be used as an accessible alternative to watching the show in-person. This filming was the main goal of a successful Crowdfunder campaign.

Apr 22: an alternative extract of MILK was showcased live as part of Uncaged Theatre’s Caged: A New Writing Night.

JAN '21 - MAY '21

Sugar. Honey. Iced. Tea. by Teddy Andraste - Andraste&Co Theatre Company

Based on real stories, five monologues filmed in a digital theatre style covering perspectives of those dealing with domestic abuse.

May-Jun 21: Showcased in SparkFest Digital 2021 and Resilient at Creative Youth Network, Bristol. Fully funded by a successful Crowdfunder campaign, 20% profits were donated to the charity Refuge UK as a continued impact of the show. Statistics on domestic abuse and mental health were also shared on social media throughout the process.
